That is not going to end well.

The side skirts are also a chassis lift point....right?

It's part of the car, right? Just apply lift anywhere and the car goes up.

To be fair, the best lift point for my MR2 is the pinch welds...

Wheel spokes? Check.
Front bumper? Sure.
Exhaust pipe? Why not.

Dude, it's a car, it's strong and it obviously can take a great amount of force if it's on the road. Wheel spoke, must be really strong because they hold up the car.

Depends on the car, many have the lift points there though.
*not my picture, but that's where the manual says to use.

No, I get that, but looking at the picture I posted, your jack's puck should not be going outside of the rocker, if in fact that is the lift point.

A lot of cars *are* designed to be lifted on the drip edge of the rocker panel, but when that's the case the points to be used tend to be very limited. This isn't 105% wrong, but has the possibility to go *very* wrong.

On most cars the factory jacking points are reinforced pinch welds just aft of the front tire and just forward of the rear tire, where the rocker panel meets the floor. That looks like what the picture is trying to show.

I think the worst part is that someone took the time to draw and color that, without realizing how bad it is.

The picture also has half the jack to the inside of the rocker, and the oddest bolt pattern I've ever seen. Where on the picture would be a better point to lift from?

They sometimes bend. Also, it looks like it's made of the same stuff as the inner liner in the wheel-well.

I just replaced a front driveshaft on a vehicle today because the owner of said vehicle decided to try to save some money and install their own winter wheels/ tires. Well they didn't know where to lift the vehicle from, so the jack slipped and caught the front driveshaft, thus denting/bending it quite badly. So much for saving money. Oh, and no one was hurt.
